Just scheduled two shoots for the next couple of months. I’m very excited that it is all coming together! Yay! :)
Yesterday was such a blast! I got to work with 4 beautiful ladies, AND they were all redheads. I have a thing for beautiful gingers, being a ginger myself. ;)
The team was:
Jeanna Kier and Genevieve Garner on hair. (BOTH these ladies rock!!!!)
Maria Barrios and Stephanie Lawrence on Make up - Do I need to repeat myself? I had never worked with Maria before, but she was an uber pro, fast and very talented! And Of course, The rest of the girls on the team were there because I’ve worked with them a number of times before and KNEW they would rock.
The models were (pictured above with Hair by Genevieve and MU by Maria) Ninja
Aryiel Harman, Rochelle Red - All first timers in front of my lens. And Sarah Hilker, another of my favorite ladies to work with.
All in all, the shoot was a blast. Everyone was timely, worked hard and we blew through 8 looks in 6 hours. Can I tell you what a shock THAT was? Everyone was speedy and amazing.
The purpose of this shoot was basically that I wanted to update some of my beauty work and focus on both fun and clean makeup. I contacted a bunch of models, and as it turns out, it was all gingers who jumped at the chance to do this shoot. So - I’m going to do this a few more times each time will focus on the color of hair. Next time I’ll choose all blonds, or maybe brunettes… we’ll see what catches my eye! I plan to do a few more of these over the next few months.
I also have recently learned some new retouching techniques and figured that it would be the PERFECT reason to do a beauty shoot. I’m quite pleased with how these images tuned out. Although, I do have to say that after posting them on ModelMayhem.com, the jpgs desaturated horribly. NOT pleased with that. I’ve read about others encountering this problem before, so I’ll have to do some research and figure out how to correct it.
In the meantime, click the image to see the rest of the set on my flickr account.
(btw - not happy with the placement of my watermark… but it looked worse in other areas of the photo. grr!!)
:)

Another of my favorite images from my shoot at the Salton Sea with Sharon TK. We were so close to losing our light at this point. And I didn’t want to use artificial light for this shoot. So I pumped up the ISO and we shot really quickly. The entire shoot was probably about 1 1/2 hours (which included a change of looks) her hair went from updo to fierce and flowing in a matter of 10 minutes.
Every one involved was amazing! I had so much fun on the shoot all day even with the stress of running out of light, I’d say this was a smashing success!!
We are going to do a few more series like this, so wait for it!
Next shoot is planned for March!

Another peek at the shoot I did Monday. :) First look, only brighter and more colorful. I’m thrilled with it, and it sounds like it’s going to turn into a series. I’ll keep you updated on that one. ;) xoxo
Which of these two (see previous post) do you like better?

Sneak Peek of my recent shoot with Sharon TK. After rushing to beat the sun, we got some great images, I’m very very excited for the set and looking forward to editing more! We did 2 looks out at the Salton Sea, Got there around 4pm… right as the Sun was setting, so we shot fast and got plenty from the golden hour. Ended up shooting at a very high ISO to get some of the images, so a bit more noise than makes me happy, but overall, very satisfied and not as disappointed with the noise as I had expected to be.
